IKEA is recalling TROLIGTVIS travel mug due to non-compliance with IKEA requirements

TROLIGTVIS travel mug, pink/ green/ blue/ beige

IKEA urges all customers who have a TROLIGTVIS travel mug marked “Made in India” to stop using it. Recent test reports show that the product may migrate levels of chemicals exceeding the prescribed limits. Therefore, IKEA urges customers that have the travel mug to return the product to any IKEA store for a full refund.

IKEA takes product safety very seriously. All IKEA product types are continuously tested and shall comply with applicable standards and legislation, as well as IKEA own requirements. IKEA recently received test reports showing that the travel mug may migrate levels of Dibuthyl phthalate (DBP) exceeding the prescribed limits. IKEA has since many years decided to prohibit all use of phthalates in food contact products and therefore stopped sales of the travel mug during investigation. The investigation has shown that travel mugs marked “Made in India” may be affected and IKEA is now recalling the mugs in spite of a very low risk of any immediate negative health effect.

TROLIGTVIS travel mug (beige, pink, green and blue) have been sold since August 2019 and October 2019 in Thailand respectively. IKEA urges customers in possession of the travel mug with marking “Made in India” to return the product to any IKEA store for a full refund.

Please present the original receipt as a proof of purchase. According to the Revenue department of Thailand (tax office), a receipt number should be stated in the credit note when issuing a refund, so we would appreciate if you can present the receipt.

In case of no receipt, we will have to return in the form of an IKEA gift card.
