Shopee wraps up Shopee 9.9 วันช้อปแห่งปี (Wan Shop Hang Pee): Super Shopping Day, bringing more memorable shopping experiences with shoppers

Shoppers watched 120 million minutes of livestreams on Shopee Live, while enjoying better deals and more value from favourite local sellers and brands.

At 9.9, shoppers enjoyed more value and memorable experiences, while sellers and brands saw a boost in sales. In Thailand, Shopee users clocked in 120 million minutes of live streams watched on Shopee Live, and more than 25 million plays on Shopee Prizes during the 9.9 period.

Thai shoppers warmly welcomed the shopping festival, kicking off the year-end shopping season:

As Thai shoppers spent more time at home and paid more attention to their health, they purchased more essentials like tissue paper and skincare products as well as gadgets like smartphones to upgrade their home entertainment experiences.

Shopee also found that Thai shoppers in big cities, such as Bangkok, Samut Prakarn and Chiangmai, were actively checking out their items.

  • More opportunities for Thai brands and businesses: Shopee partnered more sellers, and brands to bring greater value to shoppers. Businesses saw a boost, with one sundry store seeing more than 160,000 items sold on 9 Sep.

  • Shopee offered more convenience with ShopeePay, as digital payments continue to become closely integrated in everyone’s daily lives. The top 3 services that shoppers paid for on ShopeePay on September 9, 2022 were Telco, Bill and Transportation.
  • ShopeeFood revealed that the top 5 dishes and beverages ordered by users in Thailand were Thai Tea, Fried Chicken, Suki Yaki, Japanese Food and Hamburger. The most popular cuisine among foodies on September 9 were American Food, Japanese Food and Thai Food.

Beverages were also popular on ShopeeFood during 9.9, with more than 300,000 cups of coffee ordered. In addition, ShopeeFood saw the highest number of orders from 10AM-12PM during 9 Sep, as many users turned to the platform to order brunch and lunch time meals.
