Nestlé Drives Sustainability in Dairy Farming, Signs MOU with Dairy Cooperatives to Advance Regenerative Agriculture

Nestlé (Thai) Ltd., led by Ms. Salinla Seehaphan, Corporate Affairs Director, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the sustainable development of dairy farms with representatives from three dairy cooperatives in Nakhon Ratchasima province: Phimai Dairy Cooperative Limited, Chum Phuang Dairy Cooperative Limited, and Khonburi Dairy Cooperative Limited. The three cooperatives have partnered with Nestlé for over 30 years and the MOU strengthens their collaboration by placing a greater emphasis on sustainable development. The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Wisit Srisuwan, the Director General of the Cooperative Promotion Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and officials from the Cooperative Technology Transfer and Development Office.

The MOU highlights Nestlé’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from dairy farming while improving the quantity and quality of raw milk, which benefits both the farmers and consumers. Through the strengthened partnership, Nestlé is introducing regenerative agriculture practices to support the sustainable development of dairy farming in Thailand. Nestlé has provided knowledge and training to dairy farmers and cooperative extension officers on topics such as waste management in dairy farms and preparing nutritious food for their cows. The goal is to enhance both the quality and quantity of raw milk while addressing the impact of climate change on milk production. These efforts will result in a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, aligning with Nestlé’s goal of achieving Net Zero by 2050.

In addition to driving its sustainability agenda, Nestlé has signed an MOU for raw milk purchases in 2024 and 2025, ensuring that farmers have a stable market for their raw milk and receive fair prices based on agreed-upon purchasing standards. Nestlé has signed annual MOUs to purchase raw milk to support farmers’ incomes and enhance their quality of life.
