TCP Group Delivers Aid, Energizing Flood Victims in Chiang Rai
TCP Group and Durbell, a leading distribution and warehouse company under TCP Group, teamed up to energize Thais and provide flood relief in Chiang Rai Province. Volunteer employees visited the affected area to assist with clean-up efforts and distributed multi-purpose, durable, and reusable survival bags to residents at Wat Fang Min Wittaya School and Bandoo School in Mueang District.
Wat Fang Min Wittaya School, a Buddhist school for novices near the Kok River, suffered significant flood damage and lacked the resources for restoration. The volunteer team worked together to clean and restore key facilities, including the pagoda, chapel, office building, canteen, and drum tower, enabling over 200 monks and novices to resume their religious practices. TCP Group and Durbell also collaborated with teachers and students from Bandoo School in the restoration efforts at Wat Fang Min Wittaya School.
At Bandoo (Saharadpattanakan) School, part of Durbell’s organic farming project for school lunches was also affected by the flooding. The volunteer team stepped in to help by planting over 50,000 vegetable seedlings, including eggplant, chili, basil, holy basil, papaya, okra, and more. These seedlings will support the school’s kitchen and be distributed to the parents of students affected by the flood. By providing necessities, ready-to-eat dry goods, and fast-growing home-grown vegetable seeds that can be harvested within a few days, the aid offers a sustainable solution to reduce expenses and generate future income. These seedlings symbolize the energy and resilience needed to keep fighting.
Since August 24, 2024, TCP Group and Durbell have delivered more than 4,000 relief bags to flood victims and will continue to provide support to affected communities located in accessible areas. TCP Group is committed to working alongside local communities to restore normalcy as quickly as possible, hoping this aid will ease the impact and offer encouragement, energizing people to regain their strength—both physically and mentally—and swiftly overcome this crisis.
