IKEA Thailand reaffirms its commitment to creating a better everyday life for the many people, especially children, through its ‘Let’s Play for Change’ initiative and the launch of SKOGSDUVA collection at IKEA Sukhumvit. Inspired by Scandinavian forests, this special collection invites children to explore a world of wonder, fostering limitless play and learning through toys, bedding, games, stories, and more. The launch event underscored IKEA’s belief in the power of play and family time to build bonds, self-confidence, creativity, and imagination, nurturing essential developmental skills and a lifelong love of learning. The event featured discussions on the inspiration behind the SKOGSDUVA collection, the collaboration between Teach For Thailand and IKEA Thailand, insights into Swedish approaches to child development, and an engaging storytelling session for children led by the Poon Poon Theatre Company.

Yunha Choi, Marketing and Public Relations Manager of IKEA Thailand, highlighted the importance of the ‘Let’s Play for Change’ campaign, stating that “At IKEA, we believe children are the most important people and that home is a meaningful playground. We are dedicated to incorporating the power of play to facilitate learning and stimulate age-appropriate development, starting with creating an environment to nurture playful learning. Through our ongoing IKEA Play Report, we study and understand the evolving needs of both children and parents, using these insights to design and develop products that promote limitless learning through play, spark imagination, create joyful play experiences, and foster precious family moments. This commitment reinforces IKEA’s dedication to creating a better everyday life for the many people.”

This inspiration drives IKEA’s continuous development of products that encourage learning through play. With SKOGSDUVA collection, IKEA invites children to an imaginative world inspired by Scandinavian forests, allowing them to experience the wonders of nature and learn about the behaviors of forest creatures through toys and everyday objects. These items help children understand the world around them and cultivate an appreciation for environmental conservation and endangered species. IKEA also designed the SKOGSDUVA collection to integrate seamlessly into children’s daily routines, particularly bedtime stories which is more than just a routine. Through fun adventures and imaginative scenarios, it is a crucial time for children to develop various skills, including language skills, creativity, critical thinking, empathy, and so much more.

Beyond creating products for a better everyday life, IKEA is committed to giving back to the community. For every soft toy purchased, IKEA will donate 30 baht to its partner, Teach For Thailand, to support children’s access to learning opportunities. Suwat Leehame, Head of Partnership, Teach For Thailand, stated, “With the support of IKEA Thailand, it enables Teach For Thailand to expand our Fellowship Program to reach more challenging contexts, creating better educational opportunities for children. We are grateful for IKEA’s partnership in building a sustainable positive impact within classrooms, schools, and the wider community. We look forward to continuing our collaboration on impactful projects for children and the future of Thailand.”

The SKOGSDUVA collection is available in IKEA stores and online at IKEA.co.th/SKOGSDUVA starting November 7, 2024. Additionally, everyone can take part in giving back to the community with IKEA. For every soft toy sold, IKEA will donate 30 baht to Teach For Thailand to continue supporting educational development programs for children in Thailand.
