Sanofi Thailand Wins the AmCham Corporate Social Impact Award for the 5th Consecutive Year, Reinforcing its Position as a Healthcare Leader Committed to Society

Sanofi, a leading global healthcare company, has received the “Corporate Social Impact Award 2024 – Gold level” for the 5th consecutive year from the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AmCham Thailand), reinforcing its commitment to conducting business with social and community responsibility. The company continues to support activities that enhance Thai society’s well-being and promote sustainability. Sanofi Thailand, represented by Ms. Mantana Tanprasert, Head of Vaccines Thailand and Myanmar and Mr. Charles Trolliet, Head of Commercial Thailand, Pharma Business, proudly received the award at Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel recently.

Since its establishment, Sanofi Thailand has consistently implemented innovations for prevention and treatment of patients and the general public in Thailand. Our cutting-edge science and manufacturing, fueled by data and digital technologies, allow us to accelerate the transformation of scientific innovation into healthcare solutions to prevent and manage a wide range of medical conditions. We prevent illnesses with vaccines and provide treatments to fight pain and ease suffering. We also stand by patients who suffer from rare diseases, and the millions with long-term chronic conditions.

Mr. Eric Mansion, General Manager, Pharma Business of South-East Asia & India (SEA&I) and Multi-Country Organization (MCO) Lead, says “At Sanofi, a global leader in healthcare innovation with operations in over 70 countries, we are united by our purpose: “We Chase the Miracles of Science to Improve People’s Lives.” Our commitment to research and development drives us to deliver best-in-class and first-in-class solutions, leveraging cutting-edge technology and a patient-centric approach. In the rapidly growing SEA&I region, home to over 2 billion people, we recognize that healthcare access, environmental care, and social impact are equally vital. Sanofi prioritizes disease awareness campaigns to empower individuals in self-care and promotes environmental consciousness as part of our holistic approach to improving lives.”

Mr. Charles Trolliet, Head of Commercial Thailand, Pharma Business, who supports and drives the social impact projects in Thailand, comments, “Sanofi Thailand not only strives to provide Thai patients with equal and sustainable access to innovative treatment, but we have also pioneered in initiating two projects this year:

  1. Sanofi Planet Care Upcycling Program: facing the global warming and severe climate change, it is our duty to care for the earth. We have partnered with 6 leading hospitals to campaign for diabetes patients to return used insulin pens to service points. The used insulin pens will have a second life and we can reduce plastic waste at the same time. This project has gained great traction since its launch, and we are excited to expand the program further next year.
  2. Kids & Diabetes in Schools (KiDS): a global campaign by Sanofi and International Diabetes Federation (IDF), has been newly introduced to Thailand this June. This initiative aims at raising awareness about diabetes among children and youth, as well as encourages lifestyle changes for better health, emphasizing on exercise, proper nutrition, and adequate rest. We have collaborated with Diabetes Association of Thailand and the Medical Service Department of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to launch the project through “Train the Trainers” workshop. Moreover, we have mobilized our Sanofi volunteers to implement the KiDS program and make it a reality. We recently introduced diabetes awareness activities in a secondary school in Bangkok, in commemoration of World Diabetes Day.”

A remark from Ms. Mantana Tanprasert, Head of Vaccines Thailand and Myanmar, perfectly captures the essentials. “This award inspires and empowers us to further our commitment to scientific innovation that transforms life, particularly enhances the health of Thai society. We have seen tangible results from our efforts, be it offering life-changing treatment options for better quality of life for patients, promoting health literacy to the general public for self-care, or campaigning for life-course immunization and value of vaccination for better protection, especially in vulnerable groups such as infants, children, and the elderly. We reaffirm our commitment to improve the health and well-being of communities in Thailand.”

It is our honor to receive the ‘AmCham Corporate Social Impact Award 2024’, which truly aligns with Sanofi’s purpose: “We Chase the Miracles of Science to Improve People’s Lives”. Our dedication to improving people’s lives goes beyond innovations in healthcare – but also driving health equity and caring for the planet, to create positive impact on the communities which we operate in.
