Jim Thompson’s Spring 2025 Collection
Blending Thai heritage with contemporary design, Jim Thompson continues its legacy of exceptional textile artistry with the FLAIR Gert Voorjans for Jim Thompson Collection. The exclusive collaboration with the acclaimed master colorist and interior designer Gert Voorjans, notable from his work with Dries Van Noten and previous Jim Thompson collections, celebrates the Silk Road’s rich heritage through elegant silk fabrics, intricate wallpapers, and bold patterns that weave opulent narratives of color, craft, and character. From the painterly charm of Garden Party to the fairy-tale spirit of Melusine, Prima Vera capturing the season’s vitality with two distinct morning and twilight interpretations, and the dynamic energy of Nuance, with a classic, linear handwoven pattern, each design presents a unique story. Inspired by art, nature, and global influences, the collection showcases deep contrasts, textured weaves, and expressive patterns, transforming spaces into visual masterpieces.
The Earthbound high-performance fabric collection reinterprets Jim Thompson’s iconic hand-woven silk designs from the 1990s using solution-dyed polypropylene yarns, ensuring outstanding performance against the elements in both indoor and outdoor settings. The collection was overseen by Vichada Sitakalin (Dao), Creative Director, Jim Thompson. Dao is highly regarded as the visionary behind the widely publicized renovation of Jim Thompson’s Bangkok Home Furnishings showroom. Relying entirely on handcrafting by skilled in-house artisans, Matmi II uses Thailand’s traditional tie-dye textile techniques capturing the essence of regional artistry and woven mastery, seamlessly translating these traditions into contemporary patterns and designs. The Twila collection features a cotton-linen blend with a satin weave, highlighting dual colors and a rich, textured finish. Mimicking the iridescence of classic Thai silk, this cotton-linen fabric’s satin weave offers a contemporary look with graceful movement, perfect for drapery.
No. 9 Collection: A fresh take on Jim Thompson’s renowned craftsmanship, No. 9 brings a relaxed elegance and bold spirit to contemporary interiors. Under the creative direction of Richard Smith, many of the prints of No.9 were inspired by his renowned water color artwork and appreciation for pattern, curated from his studio by the sea in Sussex, England. Spice Market takes on a North African aesthetic, with a range of powerful designs, colors and textures inspired by the region. Amongst the vibrant collection, Azilal offers a textured geometric embroidery inspired by Morocco’s dramatic scenery and sun-bleached landscape, whilst Kalahari, a large-scale print, displays abstract renderings of native animals across the fabric, camouflaged by different marks and patterns. The Kasbah collection showcases an intricate and sophisticated range of upholstery fabrics inspired by the landscapes, patterns and symbols of the region with soft earthy tones. The Rif collection presents 3 drapery fabrics including Hammam Stripe, with the look of a handwoven textile, Rif, a linen-rich, voluptuous textile with accent color stripe, and Atlas Tweed, an exquisitely textured, uber-soft curtain fabric with a tiny geometric motif within the weave.
Fox Linton Collection: Sarah Hagger, Commercial Collection Manager, Fox Linton, introduces 5 new fabrics, synonymous with its understated British and European style and flair to create beautiful, high-performing textiles focusing on a celebration of natural yarns. Included are Malvern Earth, a collection of 12 new nature-inspired colorways in 100% lambswool satin quality Malvern, and Spinney, a wonderfully tactile fabric, as well as being a distinctive and easy to use multi-tonal chunky bouclé. Flex provides a flat, woven multi-tonal upholstery weight, with a subtle metallic, pearlescent yarn which highlights this distinct fabric’s elegance on upholstery.
This year’s showcase at Paris Déco Off celebrated Jim Thompson’s harmonious blend of cultural storytelling, bold patterns, refined textures, and versatile applications, reflecting the brand’s commitment to excellence and artistry. With its powerful new Spring Collection 2025, fabric mastery and innovation, Jim Thompson Home Furnishings continues to set new benchmarks in premium home and hospitality interior design.
