BJC Wins “Climate Action Leader” Award from AFMA Asia under the United Nations
Berli Jucker Public Company Limited (BJC) has received the “Climate Action Leader” award from the Agricultural and Food Marketing Association for Asia and the Pacific (AFMA Asia), in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UN FAO). This award recognizes BJC’s leadership in advancing Sustainable Development Goal 13 (SDG 13: Climate Action) and its contributions to environmental sustainability.
The award was presented at the United Nations Office in Thailand, where Mrs. Nongnuch Payonitikarn, First Executive Vice President of the Packaging Business, accepted the award on behalf of BJC from Mr. Narapat Kaeothong, Assistant Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.
A key factor in this achievement is the “Glass Cycle Project” by BJC Glass, which promotes a closed-loop circular economy for glass packaging. The project has reduced CO₂ emissions by 33,757 tons between 2021 and 2024 and improved the quality of life for waste collectors through the “C3Leng” digital platform, providing income opportunities.
